CMN Token: Tokenomics & Distribution

Jan 31, 2025

As we approach the launch of the CMN token later this year, let’s take a look at the details of its distribution.

CMN is the governance and utility token powering Common’s suite of products. As we approach the Token Generation Event, we’ll unveil more details about its utility, distribution, innovative sale mechanism, and upcoming airdrop campaigns in the coming weeks.

Today, we’re excited to share the first batch of insights into how the token will be distributed.

CMN – Initial Distribution

As we plan on making the economy around Common oriented towards the community, the majority of the token’s supply will be distributed to the users of Common and Aleph Zero.

The total supply of Common will be set at 100,000,000 CMN.

Community allocation – 55%

Airdrops – 20%

This part of the supply is reserved for both airdropping CMN to those who already participated in airdrop campaigns–holding Common Staking Drops, Common Liquidity Drops, and participants of the Galxe campaign–as well as for the upcoming airdrops.

Vesting: various structures to be announced

Sale – 10–20%

We plan a first-of-its-kind mechanism to ensure fair and privacy-focused distribution. The cap for this sale is set at 20% of the total zero supply. If the amount sold is lower than the cap, the remaining distribution will go to the farms and incentives budget.

Vesting: various structures to be announced

Farms and Incentives – 15-25%

The supply for farms and incentives will boost usage and TVL of Common on DEXes and within the platform.

Strategic reserves – 45%

Treasury – 15%

The treasury will be used to fund R&D and protocol upgrades.

Vesting: 4-year linear vesting, 1-year cliff, 20% unlocked upfront

Team – 7%

This part of the budget will go to the Common team incentivization.

Vesting: 4-year linear vesting, 1-year cliff, no upfront unlocks

Liquidity – 7%

The liquidity budget will offer deep DEX pools and CEX liquidity to minimize volatility and ensure seamless trading.

Marketing – 7%

For the execution of the Go-to-Market strategy, including viral campaigns targeting privacy advocates, developers, and institutions. Part of the budget will also go to KOL campaigns and allocations.

CEX Listings – 9%

We also plan to reserve part of the supply to secure exchange listings, including top-tier CEXes.
