We are thrilled to introduce the Common Web App, now live on the Aleph Zero EVM and Arbitrum testnets.
Today’s launch brings self-custody privacy to a familiar web app—designed for those who appreciate speed, ease of use, and autonomy over their financial privacy.
Whether you’re coming from Aleph Zero or any other ecosystem, the Common Web App offers a seamless way to break the on-chain trail and regain privacy.
Fast, familiar, and private
The Common Web App allows you to connect with popular wallets like MetaMask, Rabby, Talisman, and more, and manage your assets privately in a unified interface. You don’t need to learn a new system—just connect your wallet and secure your tokens in the Common interface.

Currently, the app supports whitelisted asset shielding at launch. On Aleph Zero EVM Testnet, that is TZERO, USDT, SPR (Spring). On Arbitrum Sepolia, ETH, USDT, and SPR (Spring).
Once shielded, your assets are in a unique shielded pool. You can then withdraw them to another address without your trace being found on-chain.

Some traces will stay on-chain, due to the public nature of blockchains. But the only thing the public will see is you entering the shielded pool–and nothing beyond that. They won’t know if you’re still in the pool or to what accounts you’ve withdrawn.
Privacy matters
Transparency is the nature of blockchains—but with a cost. Each transaction, each transfer, each wallet interaction is visible and easily traceable.
That’s great for verification and trustlessness, but dangerous as well:
- Your financial history is permanently exposed
- Anyone who notices your wallet address can profile your activity
- Once one of your addresses is linked to your identity–ALL your activity will be known publicly
Privacy is the default in traditional finance. But you need it on-chain, too..
Common brings that choice back to you. It puts the power of controlling what other individuals can observe back in your hands—not in the hands of third parties, algorithms, or data brokers.
Use cases: when and why to shield
The Common Web App is designed to accommodate a wide range of real-world scenarios:
- Begin anew – break the history from prior addresses and begin a new financial life
- Private income – teams and freelancers receive payments without leaking transaction history
- Investment rotation – reserve money for future plans without divulging portfolio movement
Shielding provides that additional layer of anonymity. Use it as you like!
Safe and effective how-to-use
Though safeguarding breaks the connection between your private and public accounts, you can maximize your privacy following these best practices:
- Withdraw to a fresh address per transaction
- Use rounded amounts (e.g. 10.00 or 50.00 USDT)
- Space your deposits and withdrawals randomly over time
These steps reduce the chance of address linking by analysis or pattern detection.
Security you can trust
Common Web App uses Aleph Zero’s Shielder SDK, a privacy engine utilizing zero-knowledge cryptography to safeguard assets.
The Shielder has further been independently audited by ZK Security, the premier security firm in the field of zero-knowledge. The audit was completed with no major findings, and the full report will be available soon.
In the meantime, rest assured: you’re operating on testnet only, and testnet tokens carry no real-world value. This is your chance to explore and experiment without risk.
